As a Design Manager, you will serve a critical role in delivering outstanding environments for our customers and innovating on the physical products we provide. You will work closely with other Design Managers, Product Development, as well as cross-functional Real Estate, Construction, Operations, and Launch teams to support the company's growth and development goals for new locations.

We're looking for a creative self-starter who works comfortably in ambiguous circumstances, proactively seeks solutions to issues, and is excited to have a voice in design and product conversations across the organization.

This role may be based in any U.S. Industrious Hub Market (New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, Austin, Phoenix, or Los Angeles).

What You'll Do:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee select projects through all phases of design, including Test Fit, SD, DD, CD, Construction Administration, and launch. Ensure that Industrious product standards and guidelines are followed in design decision-making, advocating for both our brand and design vision to landlord partners, while managing the quality of vendor outputs.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Real Estate, Operations, and Construction on programming, blocking plans, and test fits.
  • FF&E Oversight: Specify furniture, accessories, artwork, and greenery.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work collaboratively with Construction, Procurement, Real Estate, Legal, Operations, and Facilities, as well as external consultants and vendors.
  • Process Improvements: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance design workflows and efficiency.
  • Design Innovation: Identify design ideas, trends, and new product specifications to evolve our design standards and innovate our physical workplace products.

Team Building:

  • Build a positive culture on our growing team and have significant input to our design vision, strategy, and execution

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: 5-8 years managing design with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • Expertise: Experience in workplace design. Hospitality design experience is a plus. Experience and knowledge of the construction process as it relates to design, both in terms of relative cost and constructability.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam; grasp of building codes, MEP design, construction documentation.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design ideas
  • Time Management: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in a virtual, distributed team environment.
  • Values: Commitment to integrity, teamwork, and ownership.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within the US for site visits, project launches and team events up to 1-2 times per month.

Compensation:

The annual base compensation range for this role is between $105,000 and $115,000. The successful candidate's actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications. You will also be eligible for an annual 12.5% bonus and participation in our long-term incentive program.

Base and bonus compensation are just two components of Industrious' total compensation package for this role.
