Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Opportunity

Dendreon is making the battle against cancer personal. Our flagship product, PROVENGE (sipuleucel-T), was the first FDA-approved immunotherapy for metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer and is made from the patient's own immune cells.

Your Role:

Dendreon is seeking a highly motivated Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the Southwest US region to join its Medical Affairs team and support the only approved autologous immunotherapy for prostate cancer. The MSL is a credentialed therapeutic and disease state expert who engages in scientific exchange with leaders in Urology, Oncology, and Immuno-Oncology. The MSL provides highly technical scientific information to external stakeholders to ensure their understanding of our product and gathers insights on therapeutic interests.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide disease state and therapeutic awareness to urology and oncology thought leaders and HCPs.
  • Maintain and update the regional MSL territory plan.
  • Respond to scientific questions from urology and oncology thought leaders and HCPs.
  • Serve as an advanced scientific expert in prostate cancer and immunology for the assigned territory.
  • Represent Dendreon at scientific meetings, gathering insights from thought leaders and HCPs.
  • Participate and lead external Advisory Boards and strategic planning meetings.
  • Participate in clinical trials:

  • Identify and support investigators and clinical operations in Dendreon's clinical trials.
  • Respond to requests from physicians interested in investigator-sponsored studies.
  • Education and training:

  • Participate in providing medical information at scientific meetings and Medical Affairs booths.
  • Educate HCPs on the appropriate use of our product.
  • Serve as a resource in educating sales, marketing, and professional services teams.
  • Engage in team and company educational and strategic discussions on prostate cancer and immunotherapy.
  • Demonstrate business acumen regarding industry, compliance, and Pharma rules.
  • Understand the roles and contributions of MSLs and Medical Affairs.
  • Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD) or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a FDA-regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in Oncology, Urology, or Immunology.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Working Conditions:

  • Frequent travel, up to 30-60%, including overnight and weekend travel.
  • Must reside within the designated territory.
  • MSL level based on experience.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Intermittent walking and use of fingers for computer and paperwork activities.
  • Sufficient vision and hearing for communication and reading.
