Job Description:
At MaxLite, our vision is to transform the way people experience light. MaxLite seeks an experienced Product Manager to drive strategic growth of our c-Max Lighting Controls portfolio. This role develops product roadmaps, provides product marketing and technical support, and collaborates cross-functionally to deliver innovative lighting control solutions.
As Product Manager, c-Max controls at MaxLite, you'll develop and execute a multi-year product controls roadmap, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and market leadership throughout the product lifecycle. You'll leverage deep market intelligence and customer insights to inform strategy, support sales with technical expertise, and create targeted marketing and pricing initiatives that position MaxLite for sustainable growth. Your ability to analyze trends, optimize product mix, and craft compelling messaging will ensure successful product launches and ongoing portfolio strength.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Product Roadmap Development
- Develop and implement robust multi-year controls roadmap with strong focus on driving innovation
- Collaborate with Engineering, other category product managers and key industry organizations to develop technology roadmap and provide strategic direction for innovative growth opportunities
- Manage complete product lifecycles from concept to obsolescence, optimizing portfolio mix and market leadership
- Evaluate existing and emerging technologies to identify solutions that will reliably operate in a wide range of installed environments
Marketing Intelligence
- Conduct comprehensive Voice of Customer (VOC) research to develop insights, business cases, and set clear product priorities to launch impactful products
- Establish deep understanding of competition, channels, pricing, and customers to execute strategies against competitive threats
- Provide sales forecasts, competitive analysis, and market insights to guide product launch and inventory strategies to maintain a healthy portfolio
Sales Support & Technical Expertise
- Support sales teams and agent network with technical expertise and conduct regular training on product features and competitive positioning
- Drive strong customer engagement through product and application support, including quotes and bills of material assistance for large RFP's and project takeoffs
- Create sales enablement tools including competitive comparison documents
Marketing & Pricing Strategy
- Establish value-based pricing to maintain healthy margins. Update pricing plans regularly based on market data, sales feedback, product sales performance and competitive pricing intelligence
- Collaborate with marketing on promotional programs and collateral including brochures, data sheets, and videos
- Develop compelling product messaging and support trade shows and customer demonstrations
- Develop case studies and application guides that showcase product capabilities and benefits
- Perform additional duties as assigned, with minimal supervision.

Requirements
What We Look For:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field
- 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in lighting, controls, or building automation
- Proven track record of successful product launches and portfolio growth
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer technologies
- Excellent documentation abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of lighting control systems, sensors, and smart building technologies
- Practical hands-on knowledge of wireless communication protocols (Zigbee, WiFi, Bluetooth) a must
- Lighting experience with developing and managing IoT solutions and services highly desirable
- Familiarity with building automation systems and integration requirements
- Experience with product lifecycle management tools and methodologies
- Proficiency in market research techniques and data analysis
Professional Skills
- Experience with go-to-market strategies and product positioning
- Exceptional ability to understand customer needs and market technology trends
- Excellent interpersonal skills and deadline driven while being collaborative and emotionally intelligent
- Results oriented with strong ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented with strong presentation skills (need to be comfortable in front of customers)
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- This is an on-site position required to work out of our Pine Brook, NJ Headquarters, Monday through Friday, 5 days per week during the assigned shift schedule
- Must be able to commute to the work location
- Must be able to walk, talk, sit, stand, bend, listen, type, read
- Must be able to push, pull, lift up to 15 pounds on occasion
