    Laboratory Manager – Soil Testing TRC Talent is proud to partner with a leading geotechnical soil testing firm located in Tucker, GA, to help find their next Laboratory Manager. If you're an experienced lab professional with a passion for quality, leadership, and technical excellence—this could be your next great opportunity. This is a full-time, exempt role that's fully onsite (remote work is not available). The company offers a friendly, flexible schedule and a stable work environment—no travel or fieldwork required. You'll be based in a modern, AASHTO-, USACE-, and GA DOT-accredited lab that supports projects in 40+ states. You'll receive hands-on training and mentoring from a highly respected Professional Engineer (P.E.) and will play a central role in the success and growth of the lab and its team. What You'll Be Doing:Lead day-to-day lab operations including scheduling, equipment calibration and maintenance, and workflow planning.Supervise a variety of geotechnical and construction materials testing methods such as Proctor, Atterberg Limits, grain size analysis, triaxials (CU and UU), unconfined compression, Direct Shear, permeability, consolidation, and CBR testing.Ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, GDOT, and internal quality procedures.Oversee and maintain lab accreditations; coordinate and lead internal and external audits.Manage the Proficiency Sample Program (PSP) and ensure corrective actions are completed as needed.Build strong relationships with clients, serving as a technical resource and advisor.Review detailed lab reports for completeness and accuracy using in-house developed software.Help maintain and protect client data and proprietary systems with high confidentiality. What We're Looking For:5+ years of experience in a geotechnical or materials testing laboratoryBachelor's degree in related field.A P.E. license is strongly preferred; a EIT license may be considered depending on experience.Certifications such as NICET, ACI, or equivalent is highly valued.Familiarity of ASTM, AASHTO, GDOT, and USACE standards.Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel) is requiredExcellent communication and organization skills
