Description You don't choose security...Security chooses you! The Facilities Division is hiring a Security Specialist Shift Supervisor that provides direct supervision for Security Operations and assigns personnel to their shift. Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and prepare schedule, training plans for security personnel.
  • Supervise all vehicle search and inspection for contraband, bomb elements according to policy and KRS at Access Control Point (ACP).
  • Supervise all routine checks and patrols installation being completed and conducts all areas on and off facility within jurisdic.
  • Supervise the inspection of the Mission Vulnerable Asset (MEVA) installation equipment, VIP to ensure all elements are safe, secure.
  • Supervise control measures and policies in place for entry and exit traffic.
  • Supervise implementation of Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) measures and the current Force Protection Condition (FPCON) levels at all times that are in effect on the facility and within jurisdiction.
  • Operate and supervise operation of emergency services vehicles and communication equipment for proper usage, both mobile and hand held radios.
  • Supervise officers and their policy response on all intrusions devices and other security alarms.
  • Take direct input and or orders from the Security Operations Chief in direct correlation with all emergencies and events inside and outside of standard operational policy and procedure.
  • Perform maintenance on their own equipment and the supervision on all officers maintaining their equipment and appearance while in the duty uniform.
  • Supervise and attends all mandatory training set forth by the Security Operations Chief.
  • Supervise and participates in armed training of attacks and intrusions of facility and those areas within jurisdiction.
  • Supervise all levels of defense on facility and areas under jurisdiction while maintaining all anti-terrorism measures for the DTRA.
  • Supervise and participates in securing crime scenes and, or, accident scenes.
  • Supervise all other training (ie hip pocket training) set forth by the security department and in direct relation for the betterment of the force.
  • Supervise and conduct on the job training programs with their officers in direct relation to the job tasking to improve skills levels.
  • Write and sustain assessment forms on file all officers and reports any and all disciplinary actions to the Security Operations Chief.
  • Supervise and will acknowledge, comply with all directives from the Security Operations Chief in order to enhance better communications within the leadership of the force.
  • Supervise weapons training and reports all officers in violation of any weapon carry policy or policies.
Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: High school graduate. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience in law enforcement, security, the military or a related field. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional training in the above or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in the above or a related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
