Job Description Summary

Join our dedicated team where you'll play an essential role in helping donors by conducting registration procedures to ensure their suitability for our plasma donation process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes evaluating self-administered health histories, answering medical questions, and performing basic health screenings such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
  • Perform finger sticks to obtain blood samples for hematocrit and total protein level evaluation.
  • Educate new donors on the plasma donation process and related health screening tests after completing appropriate training.
  • Maintain a professional and timely response to all donor inquiries, ensuring their questions are answered accurately.
  • Register applicants and transferring donors based on training and center operational needs.
  • Provide information and assistance over the phone, forwarding calls to the relevant staff as necessary.
  • Stay vigilant for any reactions that donors may experience during or after the donation process, and alert appropriate staff as needed.
  • Notify the Group Leader or Supervisor of any donor flow issues to ensure smooth operations.
  • Accurately record donor information in the electronic donor management system following SOP guidelines.
  • Understand and adhere to the policies related to hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Promote safety and follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Keep all personnel, donor, and center information confidential.
  • May participate in cross-training for additional roles as per business needs.
  • Bilingual skills may be required to meet customer service needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Education

    High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Experience

    A minimum of three (3) months in a clerical or customer service position, ideally in a medical or health service environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Basic math skills are necessary.

    Working Conditions

    Must be able to understand and follow both oral and written instructions effectively. You will need to engage with customers and monitor equipment operations. The position requires frequent standing and walking, with some bending and reaching involved. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be occasionally necessary. Expect a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, and awareness of potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and bloodborne pathogens.

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required during certain tasks. Flexible hours may include overtime to meet operational needs.
