Position Description:Maintain sanitary condition of equipment by following effective sanitation methods to meet regulatory requirementsPrimary Responsibilities:* Maintains sanitary condition of equipment by disassembling equipment and cleaning to regulatory standards with use of high pressure water @ 140 - 160° F; following proper chemical allocation and cleaning applications* Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations* Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed* Adhere to all break and lunch requirements for the position.* Learn and execute 8 steps of sanitizing equipment, work area, and other requirements for a quality operation* Fulfill inspection requirement of equipment after sanitation process is complete.* Must understand the corrective action processSupervisory/Management Responsibilities:Not applicableRequirements:* Able to speak English preferred* Previous related experience preferred* Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred* Able to work night shift; overtime and weekends as needed* Effective communication skills* Learn and understand the three main areas of contamination.Physical Requirements:* Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds occasionally throughout 8 hour shift* Able to tolerate hot/steam and wet conditions 8+ hours per day* Able to work around and with chemicals including alkaline detergents, acid and chlorine liquids, and caustic soaps* Standing, walking, and climbing 8+ hours per dayTraining Period:* Minimum six months meeting all above requirements; up to three yearsThis is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period.
