Remote Business Analyst

GovCIO is excited to invite applications for the role of Business Analyst, where you will become an essential part of our innovative team. This is a full-time, remote position available for candidates located within the Continental United States (CONUS). Please note that this position is contingent upon the award of the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and refine business requirements through Agile methodologies, crafting detailed user stories and functional specifications to aid in the development of software solutions.
  • Engage actively in the product development lifecycle, ensuring comprehensive documentation and adherence to principles of system design and user experience.
  • Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders to gather valuable insights, enhancing product functionality and leading validation efforts to ensure that solutions align with both technical and user needs.
  • Drive the analysis and redesign of existing processes for improved efficiency and quality outputs.
  • Conduct thorough system requirements analyses and business process evaluations during the initial discovery phase when requirements may be unclear.
  • Develop detailed user stories and functional specifications to fulfill business needs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and software architects to strategically plan development projects that align with long-term business goals.
  • Hold regular stakeholder meetings to collect detailed product and technical requirements and maintain business process documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate communication across organizational units to align operations and objectives effectively.
  • Actively participate in project enhancement and development, including user needs analysis, requirements gathering, and scope management documentation.
  • Lead backlog grooming, estimation, retrospectives, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups as needed to ensure a smooth workflow and timely project execution.
  • Maintain and assist with the development and sustainment of project deliverables as per the contract requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in business analysis, particularly within a federal government context.
  • Proficient in discovery, requirements development, and reconciling diverse business needs.
  • Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience using business analysis tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • US citizenship or authorized work status in the US is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with the VA or similar federal agencies.
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear functional specifications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting detailed system and requirements analysis.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $62,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year; however, actual pay may vary based on multiple factors, including experience, education, and market location.
