Assistant Controller

Job Description
- Achieving accounting operational objectives by preparing and completing action plans, resolving problems, completing audits, identifying trends, determining system improvements and implementing changes
- Maintaining proper process documentation
- Managing regulatory filings/submissions
- Providing support for the annual financial statement audit and actively managing tax processes at year-end
- Supervising and directing AP and general accounting functions and a tight month-end close process
- Reviewing monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations process for revenue, AR, deferred revenue, inventory, AP and other areas as assigned
- Consolidation, and evaluation of financial data as well as preparing special reports
- Working with direct reports to establish performance goals and objectives for each year as well as monitoring and advising on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
- Maintaining financial security by establishing internal controls

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task with good time management skills to meet multiple reporting deadlines
- Proficient with Acumatica or Netsuite, and/or other accounting software
- Exceptional analytical skills and strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookUps, etc.)
- CPA License preferred
- Series 27 Certification preferred
- Previous financial services/trading firm experience
- Experience with broker dealer terminology
