Salary Scale: $35.80-$45.58 BOONE COUNTY HOSPITAL Position Summary The Network Administrator ensures the secure, stable, and efficient operation of Boone County Hospitals IT infrastructure. This includes managing enterprise servers, networks, security tools, and applications. The role provides end user technical support, supports the Help Desk, enforces security measures, and collaborates closely with the IT Director to implement system strategies throughout the hospital and clinics. Essential Functions
  • Provisions and deploys IT hardware including PCs, Laptops, Thin Clients, VoIP Phones, Networking Hardware, and Servers.
  • Installs and maintains enterprise software.
  • Performs patching on PCs, Servers, and Networking Hardware.
  • Maintains network security and resolves network security issues when discovered.
  • Maintains installation and configuration procedures.
  • Monitors network performance, resolves connectivity issues, and ensures high availability.
  • Administers Active Directory, Group Policies, and file/print services.
  • Administers Microsoft productivity tools including Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Assists the IT Director with planning and executing upgrades, migrations, and new systems deployments.
  • Evaluates and recommends technology solutions to enhance efficiency, system performance, and security including working closely with auditors to identify and mitigate technical risk.
  • Understands and actively follows all HIPAA/HiTech regulations and policies.
  • Coordinates with external vendors and service providers for technical support, procurement, and licensing management.
  • Maintains accurate inventories of network and server hardware, licenses, and warranties.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Participates in departmental on-call duties to support 24/7/365 operation.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis. Three years work experience in complex systems design, and systems software and support.
  • Knowledge of: Operating systems; current equipment and technologies in use; networking (WAN/LAN/Firewall), and system monitoring and management tools.
  • Ability to: Plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.
  • Ability to: Efficiently solve complex, inter-related problems using hardware/software research and analysis tools.
  • Ability to: Stay up-to-date on emerging technology and security trends to propose improvements.
