Requirements for a Manager of Resident Life Recreation:
- Bachelor's degree in field of Therapeutic Recreation or related field
- At least 3 year(s) of job related experience, specifically in providing recreational programs
- Knowledge of nursing home quality of life regulations as directed by CMS and NYSDOH.
Responsibilities for a Manager of Resident Life Recreation:
- Directs and supervises Volunteers and Resident Life Assistants to ensure positive transitions and daily life experiences within the nursing home.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the facility's resident activities.
- Seeks grant opportunities for funding to support enhanced services and quality of life experiences for the facility's residents.
- In partnership with facility finance staff, manages and documents any recreation-based grant awards.
- Responsible for developing structured group/ activity schedules to ensure that residents receive daily recreation and / or leisure services.
- Directs the development of and implementation of systems for the facility's Volunteer program, including community partners for pet therapy and other service volunteers.
