Activities ManagerTuesday - Saturday 8:30am - 4:30pm * $24 - $26 per hour *St. Margaret's Center, an affiliate of Center for Disability Services, is a pediatric and young adult 94-bed skilled nursing facility, located in Albany, NY. Founded in 1883, St. Margaret's Center is a skilled nursing facility serving medically fragile infants, children, and young adults on a single dedicated campus. We specialize in providing cutting-edge, long-term, 24-hour intensive medical care in a nurturing and home-like setting.St. Margaret's Center is a place where infants, children and young adults can learn and grow despite any obstacle. Requirements for a Manager of Resident Life Recreation:
  • Bachelor's degree in field of Therapeutic Recreation or related field
  • At least 3 year(s) of job related experience, specifically in providing recreational programs
  • Knowledge of nursing home quality of life regulations as directed by CMS and NYSDOH.
Responsibilities for a Manager of Resident Life Recreation:
  • Directs and supervises Volunteers and Resident Life Assistants to ensure positive transitions and daily life experiences within the nursing home.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the facility's resident activities.
  • Seeks grant opportunities for funding to support enhanced services and quality of life experiences for the facility's residents.
  • In partnership with facility finance staff, manages and documents any recreation-based grant awards.
  • Responsible for developing structured group/ activity schedules to ensure that residents receive daily recreation and / or leisure services.
  • Directs the development of and implementation of systems for the facility's Volunteer program, including community partners for pet therapy and other service volunteers.
