Job Description

Provide strategic oversight and leadership for Division Managers, Team Leads, and Senior Project Managers, ensuring project milestones are met on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard. Manage and strengthen long-term client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor, participating in key meetings, and ensuring client satisfaction through all phases of project delivery. Lead regional business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, collaborating with marketing and BD teams, and representing the firm at industry events and networking functions. Conduct and oversee field inspections, perform technical analyses, and ensure all project documentation complies with building codes, regulatory standards, and internal quality benchmarks. Represent the firm in mediations and legal proceedings, providing expert opinions, testimony, and written reports as required. Drive organizational and regional growth initiatives in collaboration with executive leadership, focusing on expanding market share and maintaining high performance standards across teams. Mentor and develop senior leaders within the office, supporting professional development, performance management, and succession planning. Ensure operational efficiency by reviewing project budgets, billing, staffing needs, and internal workflows, while coordinating closely with accounting, HR, and marketing teams. Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, fostering cross-functional alignment across various departments and service lines.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate is a licensed PE or RA with at least 10 years of A/E consulting experience and a proven track record of leadership. They are client-focused, business-minded, technically sound, and comfortable managing a large, multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

  • A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA), with current credentials.
  • Highly experienced, with 10+ years in the A/E consulting industry, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
  • Adept at managing large, multidisciplinary teams, overseeing complex projects from kickoff through completion.
  • Skilled in client relationship management, business development, and regional growth strategy.
  • Technically strong, with deep knowledge of building systems, design and construction processes, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • An excellent communicator, capable of presenting to executive leadership, clients, and legal entities in both written and verbal formats.
  • Experienced in mediation and expert witness work, with the ability to draft expert reports and represent the firm professionally in legal contexts.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment that requires adaptability and strategic thinking.
  • Ideally based in or deeply familiar with the New York City market, with an existing professional network in the region.
  • QEWI-certified and OSHA-30 trained (preferred, but not required).
