Description:Piedmont- ATHENS, GAMed Surg 3: Gen Surg-TraumaPart time Evenings 11am-7pm (3 shifts per week)The surgery unit has 29 beds. Our dynamic patient population includes surgical, trauma and a variety of medical patients. Our surgeries typically involve the neck to the gut. This population includes GI surgeries such as colon resections, small bowel resections, cholecystectomies and appendectomies. We also care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies and maxillofacial procedures, etc. Patients may have an ostomy, NGT and/or other feeding tube and/or drains. Trauma patients may have multiple injuries, chest tubes, a tracheostomy and/or other drains, but have stabilized enough for a non-ICU/step down med-surg floor admission. We are a level 2 trauma center.Come join our energetic team of nurses, patient care techs and secretaries dedicated to patient safety, focused on developing professional relationships with the entire care team and growing our staff into the PAR leaders of tomorrow!RESPONSIBLE FOR:The Patient Care Tech, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy.*Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios*Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:High school graduate or equivalentMINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Entry LevelMINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:N/AADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Certification from a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program preferredOne year of patient care experience preferred
