Job Description :

Perform office support, facilitation of criminal offender group treatment, and case management work in operating the RRS Program. Employees in this class assist the Director in administering community-based corrections programs that provide monitoring and rehabilitation services for offenders. Work in this class involves high-level administrative responsibilities and considerable involvement with the Director, as well as external peers and professional agencies in the community. Work includes computer data entry, case management of offenders; maintaining files, assist in drug testing operations, and monitoring offender compliance with all elements of center plans. The employee is responsible for scheduling, planning, and implementation of service delivery. Assistant Director also facilitates cognitive offender behavior treatment groups. The employee will also provide case management to the Pretrial Program in the absence of the Director or Pretrial Case Manager; and is expected to supervise staff in the absence of the Director. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director and is evaluated through periodic meetings, review of record and reports, and overall performances in daily RRS duties and responsibilities.

  • Perform data entry into computer program, PIMS (Programs Information Management), for each offender.
  • Works directly with the NC Department of Adult Corrections staff with shared offender cases.
  • Updates job bulletin board weekly and participates in-group presentation as needed.
  • Maintains offender file, monitoring reports and progress reports for the center.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate cognitive behavior offender treatment/rehabilitation groups.
  • Performs daily monitoring of offender compliance with center plans and reports non-compliance.
  • Promotes center through positive public relations and active/volunteer recruitment.
  • Obtains and maintains current certifications to facilitate offender assessments and/or treatment.
  • Schedule and establish initial offender intake appointment after receiving court, probation, and/or TASC referral.
  • Complete offender intake including distributing risk/needs assessments.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for each offender in the program.
  • Work with outside agencies to provide appropriate services to offenders.
  • Provides and manages support services to offenders in the program, including employment/vocational, education, and health/wellness.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate monthly OMM (offender management model) meetings with Department of Adult Correction staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and data entry.
  • Ability to be effective in working with criminal offenders, while implementing discretion and decision-making skills precisely.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, various segments of the local criminal justice system, corrections/human service providers and other employees.
  • Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and be proactive.
  • Thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of government entities and local organization structure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or human services field and two years of experience in providing case management and group facilitation; or
  • Associate's Degree in criminal justice or human services field and three year's experience in providing case management and group facilitation.
  • Moral Reconation Facilitator certification or obtain within three months of hire.
  • Possess a valid NC Driver's License.
Preferred Experience:
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience in administration, contracts, or grants.
