Position InformationPosting NumberPG195361TMPosition Number11ASO3519Position TypeTemporaryEssential Job DutiesThe Assistant Director for Career Services, External Relations isresponsible for supporting the career development andemployment success of all CALS students through creating,maintaining, and encouraging relationships with organizationsand alumni seeking to recruit and develop college talent. Theperson in this role will accomplish this through strategic outreachand management of inbound requests, as well as ongoingcommunication and rapport building with organizations withexisting participation records in on-campus recruiting efforts. Thisposition will report directly to the Director of CALS CareerServices.Primary responsibilities include:Employer Engagement (75%)
- Develop and execute the strategic plan for CALSengagement with employers at the college level and inpartnership with departments, including alumniengagement in career-related activities
- Nurture existing relationships with industry,government agencies, communities, and other potentialemployers to maximize student opportunities foremployment, internships, and other career buildingexperiences
- Prospect and establish relationships with new employerpartners
- Maintain a customer relationship management (CRM)system for tracking employer engagements, and shareaccess and potential opportunities with relevant CALSentities
- Engage with the rest of the CALS Career Services teamand other professionals across campus to increase theflow of information, encourage collaboration, and makeconnections for employers with other NC Statedepartments, centers, and units
- Lead the coordination of on-campus recruiting andengagement events for CALS students, including careerfairs, on-campus interviews, and other new and existingevents with employers and alumni
- Collaborate with CALS Advancement and AcademicPrograms to build opportunities for alumni, donors, andemployers to engage in the professional development process with students
- Cultivate employer sponsorships to support CALS CareerServices programming
- Manage CALS job and internship postings in the ePACKdatabase, maintain the CALS Job Board, and work withother CALS Career Services staff and collegedepartments to make students aware of employmentopportunities
- Maintain and participate in career educationprogramming and services to support the mission of theoffice and gain insights into student needs, includingmanaging alumni and industry panels and networkingevents
Program and Administrative Management (25%)
- Lead and grow the CALS Alumni for Student Success (CASS) Career Coachprogram, including providing supervision for the CASSGraduate Assistant
- Manage the Altria Internship program within CALS andother programs that connect students with internship andjob opportunities
- Gather and analyze data to support decision-making,including in regard to employer engagement and studentoutcomes.
- Develop CALS Career Services annual report and assistwith other reporting needs
- Provide career-related education and services tostudents as needed to support CALS Career Servicesoperations
- Supervise interns and student workers as needed tomeet office needs
- May be required to adjust work hours to meet studentand organizational needs
- Occasional local and out-of-state travel as necessary
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience/Education
- Master's degree in relevant discipline, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, with a minimum of 3 years of related professional experience in relationship management or higher education.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Master's Degree in student personnel/higher education, business, business development/analytics, human resources, recruitment, agriculture, life sciences, or a related field.
- 1+ years experience working in employer relations in a higher education career services office or 1+ years experience in a sales, recruiting, or similar relationship management position.
- Experience with the agriculture and/or life sciences industries, particularly in North Carolina.
