Summary:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the purchasing department. This role involves managing vendor relationships, optimizing procurement strategies, and collaborating cross-functionally with operations, engineering, quality, and finance to meet company objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with experience in ERP/MRP systems and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the daily activities of the purchasing team.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for inventory and non-inventory items.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive performance and cost efficiency.
  • Investigate and onboard new supply sources aligned with company standards.
  • Analyze inventory levels and adjust procurement plans to support organizational goals.
  • Maintain and update ERP system data including min/max levels, safety stock, and reorder points.
  • Identify and close process gaps within the supply chain to strengthen performance.
  • Expedite materials and supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to order fulfillment, damaged goods, or replacements.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders from creation to closure.
  • Obtain and compare vendor quotations and evaluate best options.
  • Ensure suppliers meet required performance and quality standards.
  • Comply with internal procedures and quality system requirements related to purchasing.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant purchasing experience; prior leadership/management experience required.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems; Epicor experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability in critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and improving operational outcomes.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

This position is based in a warehouse setting where teamwork and efficiency are essential.

Shift:

Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM

The pay range for this role is:
