Pride Health is currently seeking candidates for a Registered Nurse – Stepdown to support one of our healthcare partners in New York, NY. This is a contract assignment with strong potential for extension—a great opportunity to gain experience with a top-tier healthcare facility!

Job Description:

• Job Title: Registered Nurse – Stepdown (RN)
• Location: New York, NY
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts/week, Every Other Weekend (EOW)
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Pay: $2,412.00/week

Overview:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Stepdown RN to join a dynamic nursing team at a major metropolitan hospital. You will provide quality care in a fast-paced stepdown unit with a 4:1 patient ratio and occasional floating to telemetry and critical care stepdown areas. This facility fosters a teaching environment, encouraging career growth and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care using a relationship-centered approach guided by nursing theory and evidence-based practice.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, post-hospital care, and health promotion.
• Perform daily patient rounding, bedside shift reporting, and medication review.
• Respond to high-risk situations using critical thinking and safety protocols.
• Accurately document nursing interventions and outcomes using EPIC EMR.

Qualifications:

• Active NYS RN License
• BLS Certification
• EPIC experience highly preferred
