Description Oakdale Discovery Center is one of the community's gems - join our team and be part of keeping this gem sparkling! We are hiring for building maintenance staff: part-time, flexible hours (primarily evenings and weekends) to provide excellent service, help with room set-up, and ensure the Discovery Center amenities are available and ready for use. Expectations This position is responsible for the overall supervision of the Oakdale Discovery Center during evening and weekends. This includes but is not limited to
  • Ensure that rooms set-up as needed and provide a great guest experience
  • Conduct light custodial work throughout the building to be certain it is clean, well-stocked, and welcoming
  • Greet visitors, provide excellent public service, and represent the city in alignment with our mission, vision, and core values
  • Willing and able to effectively complete both routine and repetitive tasks as well as a variety of miscellaneous tasks
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently
  • Able to work effectively with others, provide excellent service, and be responsive and anticipatory to user needs
  • Able to move and arrange light furniture and complete room set-up
  • Other duties as assigned or directed

While performing the duties of this job, this position will use their right foot and/or left foot for repetitive movements.SurroundingsLow Risk - Exposure to inside environmental conditions where it is adequately lighted, ventilated and heated, and normal precautions must be observed. Minimum qualifications To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.   • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
