This position involves caring for both adult and pediatric patients undergoing treatment for various cancer diagnoses, including but not limited to cancers of the head, neck, lung, prostate, breast, skin, and more. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct patient assessments to evaluate individual health needs and treatment progress. - Provide patient education on treatment plans, procedures, and self-care strategies. - Perform telephone triage to address patient concerns and health inquiries. - Coordinate care among various healthcare professionals and departments. - Assist with special exams, including the administration of contrast dye and IV fluids. Qualifications: - Recent experience in radiation oncology preferred. - Proficiency in accessing ports is required. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory. - A valid New York State RN license is required. - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and telemetry experience are required. - A minimum of two years of experience in Radiation Oncology is expected.
