Controls Logic Engineer
Position Summary:
The Controls Logic Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining logic code for CNCs and PLCs used in large-scale machine tools. Working under the guidance of the Controls Manager and direction of the Project Engineer, this role uses structured analysis and design techniques to meet project specifications. The position requires flexibility for domestic and international travel and occasional non-standard work hours.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, code, test, and document logic for complex control systems.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop CNC + PLC logic.
Work with project engineers to define CNC configurations and parameters.
Assist in the development of interfaces between HMIs and front-end computers.
Support Systems Engineers in functional machine testing and software installation.
Document software designs according to internal and customer standards.
Debug software modules and simulate system functionality.
Provide support throughout the project lifecycle, including production and customer service.
Ensure technical accuracy through testing and validation.
Continuously develop and expand technical skill sets.
Qualifications:
Strong background in mathematics: algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
2–3 years of relevant experience.
Experience with PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, STL.
Proficient in structured programming and understanding of data structures.
Familiar with networking technologies (Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet).
Proficiency with PC systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Education Requirements:
Associate or technical degree in Logic/Controls Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Siemens CNC 840Dsl/Step 7 PLC and Fanuc 30i/Fanuc Ladder.
Familiarity with Siemens, Fanuc, GE Fanuc, and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
Knowledge of machine tool types and machining processes.
