JOB DESCRIPTION: To achieve the long-range profitability of the facility and provide the optimal Guest services possible while operating within predetermined budgetary limitations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
- Delegates authority and assigns responsibility to subordinates, ensuring performance acceptable to meet and/or exceed the standards established for the facility.
- Inspects cleanliness of the facility, periodically inspects individual employee's work and the work areas.
- Conducts performance reviews.
- Fosters employee motivation.
- Investigates Guest comments/complaints, responds in writing.
- Maintains open lines of communication with employees and Guests.
- Meets and greets past, present, and/or prospective Guests or others that require or request time in order to sell services, improve operations, solve problems, or provide information.
- Keeps abreast of competition, new developments, and techniques in order to maximize profitability.
- Participates in civic affairs to become familiar with the community and maximize revenue.
- Prepares reports as requested by management for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities.
- Responsible for budgeting and capital expenses, forecasting and marketing plans.
- Performs all accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner, projecting a favorable image to achieve objective.
- Keeps General Manager fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance so that corrective action can be taken when appropriate.
- Maintains a qualified staff, identifying and controlling the various areas of accountability and performance of personnel assigned.
- Determines standards of performance as necessary.
- Recommends safety adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals.
- Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximizing employee morale and productivity.
- Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
- Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
- Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
- Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Setting strategy, projecting budgets and staffing needs, anticipating future situations and determining materials and resources needed.Reviewing progress and performance, auditing budgets, evaluating objectives, checking priorities, following through effectively and efficiently.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically capable of sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Education Required: Associate's Degree (two-year college or technical school) in hotel administration or related field
Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university).
Experience: One to two years related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirement.
Computer Skills: Must have computer skills
Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
