As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain cloud-enabled applications ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

You will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code; identify and implement enhancements to optimise system performance and maintainability; and collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and support projects throughout their lifecycle.

The role reports to the Integration Dev Lead, Airline Operations Technology, where you will leverage cloud platform services and infrastructure-as-code tools to build, manage, and secure scalable software.

Key Result Areas

  • Enhance software performance and scalability through sound architectural and coding practices.
  • Adhere to established governance standards, methodologies, work practices, and toolsets to deliver reliable system outcomes.
  • Gather business requirements, produce and maintain technical documentation such as scopes of work and technical specifications.
  • Drive initiatives to optimise business planning, governance frameworks, and delivery quality.
  • Engage in continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate solid networking, integration, and collaboration skills across delivery, development, and technical support teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, .NET, Server, DynamoDB, front-end frameworks (React, Angular), and Node.js.
  • Experience in cloud technologies, designing, developing, and deploying applications using native services, serverless frameworks, and containerized environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, DevOps, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in Linux and server system administration.
  • Expertise in MS SQL, GitHub, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD for CI/CD pipelines, and code scanning tools (Veracode, CodeQL).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the software development industry.
  • Experience with Splunk and Datadog for monitoring and log analysis.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Slack.
  • Experience in delivering outcomes in large-scale technology projects.
  • Familiarity with aviation, crew rostering, and flight scheduling is a plus.
