Reporting to the Director of Human Resources (HR), the HR Coordinator supports the employee lifecycle and all routine functions of the HR department including recruiting, hiring, administering benefits and leave, and adhering to policies and practices.
Specifically, areas of responsibilities will include:
• Facilitates employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including planning and executing new employee orientation events.
• Manages the backgrounding and fingerprinting of new hires according to standards and policy.
• Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to the HR Director or management.
• Supports the recruiting process, facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, in collaboration with hiring managers and Faculty Affairs.
• Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include child safety training, antiharassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
• Liaises with the PECF coordinating employee benefits eligibility and administration.• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring
complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate leadership.• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records; actively
engages in managing personnel records according to St. Albans record retention policy.• Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment,
organization-wide meetings, trainings, and employee recognition events.

Professional Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Experience: All candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with experience.
Education: Completed Bachelor's Degree or 3 years direct HR experience specifically in recruitment and/or onboarding in lieu of educationalexperience
Certifications: SHRM-CP preferred

Working Conditions
SCHEDULE – Typically, Monday through Friday between the general hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with very occasional work on weekends and participation at night events at school.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed in a shared office environment subject to variable temperatures and ambient noises. Work generally involves looking at a computer screen and typing for extended periods of time.
