Main Purpose of the job: The Work Order Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the accuracy of the orders representing produced cases and material usage. Shift: Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift.Role and Activity
- Validate work order cutoff times for all lines after Manager review, this also includes support to all lines to meet these cutoffs, with less rework time through on-going coaching, WO on status 60 should have minimal changes
- Review work orders on status 50, which includes the following but not limited to:
- Mix consumption - ensure Carlson and MES match, in some cases you will need to review mix playback and share daily updates
- Material consumptions - investigate and escalate to management any over or under usage, verifying line and staging bins if needed
- Chocolate & coating consumptions - ensure tank levels match to MES, any positive variance should be balanced against current WO
- Adjust required quantity when any deviations, to address miss match percentages
- Make comments on WO for all corrections
- Stock adjustments for miss ID pallets and ghost pallets in coordination with the RDC, after proper approvals
- Daily reporting, such as and not limited to:
- Materials in production bins longer than 24 hours
- Weekly chocolate & coating reconciliation
- End of shift report
- Provide JDE and MES knowledge support to factory, including delivering training if necessary
- Prevent inventory issues by ensuring all materials are consumed to Work Orders accurately
- Work with multiple departments and levels to resolve JDE & MES issues related to the production process
- Proactively identify and implement improvements in regard to WO closure process
- Ensure you walk the talk and use looking eyes, attend to the issues as and when they happen

- Other duties as assigned by manager and attend factory meetings

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in work order management, production planning, or operations coordination (preferably in food manufacturing).
- Finance or cost-control background is a plus - experience in tracking production costs, inventory valuation, or budget adherence.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in ERP systems (JDE, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to track, issue, close, and audit work orders to support production goals.
- Strong understanding of production flow, inventory control, and scheduling.
- Able to analyze and report on variances in material usage, labor hours, or costs.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with production, warehouse, and finance teams.
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and good manufacturing practices (GMP) is a plus.

Work Environment: In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced. The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens. The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is $32.03 per hour, with opportunities for overtime, shift differential, cold premium pay and annual bonuses (variable depending on company performance).
