Grain Elevator General Labor OperatorPay: $18.00 per hour, based on experience Hours:
- Standard: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Peak Season (September-November): 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Position Type: Full-Time Seasonal
Position Summary: The Grain Elevator General Labor Operator plays a vital role in daily operations to ensure efficient, safe handling of grain and grain products. This hands-on role supports unloading, loading, and transferring activities across truck, rail, and barge operations. Candidates must be team-oriented, safety-focused, and able to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions. Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and government regulations; actively participate in company safety programs.
- Operate equipment and perform tasks critical to the operation of the facility.
- Assist in unloading, loading, and transferring of grain via truck, rail, and barge.
- Learn and understand the properties and potential hazards of handled grain products.
- Operate conveyance equipment safely and effectively, with an understanding of associated safety systems.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including tunnels, head house, grounds, and other facility areas as directed.
- Monitor and maintain equipment; report malfunctions or needed repairs to management.
- Address blockages and spills safely and efficiently, following proper procedures.
- Deliver high levels of customer service through courteous and professional interaction.
- Work independently or as part of a team to accomplish tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment: This role is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to:
- Grain dust
- Weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Heavy truck and equipment activity
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, and walk.
- Frequently uses hands for handling materials and equipment.
- Must be able to:
- Climb ladders and work at heights up to 150 feet
- Work in confined spaces
- Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Perform manual labor in all weather conditions
Qualifications: Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings during peak season
