This position analyzes sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements. It is responsible for scheduling, moving and transporting materials and supplies within the plant for production purposes. Manages inventory levels to meet production schedules, and determines methods of storage and stock location, considering height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities and required space. Works with purchasing and appropriate plant personnel to order floor stock. Reviews work in process on the production floor to insure adequate supplies. Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and work in process using a material requirement planning report. Releases purchase orders for production material, floor stock items and all purchases to support the production process.
