Per Diem. The Emergency Department Technician is responsible for receiving patients, gathering patient registration information, ordering tests, generating specimen labels, and performing phlebotomy on all patient populations. This position is part of the 1199 SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. This position reports to the Nurse Manager, Emergency Department and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Must be able to effectively interact appropriately to an individual's intellectual level and physical ability. Qualifications. Education. High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Other Certificate/ Diploma Phlebotomy required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No. Licenses and Credentials. Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services required. Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required. Experience.
