Job Summary
Logistics, Transportation & Parking is seeking a full time Customer Service Representative to act as a Parking Ambassador for the patient and visitor parking structures at the Michigan Medicine parking facilities.
Responsibilities*
Drive parking facilities and scan license plates by using Patroller system
Monitor and report suspected unauthorized parking activity
Assist patients and visitors by directing them to available parking space
Assist parkers with items they may need to their destination, as necessary (wheelchairs, strollers, belongings, etc)
Direct patients and visitors to their destination inside the hospitals, escort patients and visitors to area inside the hospital
Greet and screen patients and visitors at the parking structures
Redirect non-patient and visitors to other parking areas, inform customers of alternative parking options by giving directions and handing out maps
Monitor parking space availability, monitor full conditions of parking facilities, redirect patients and visitors to available parking spaces and/or parking facilities
Assist patients and visitors with location of vehicle upon their return to the parking facility on foot or by use of motorized vehicle.
Act as a customer service ambassador to Michigan Medicine
Report any suspicious behavior to DPSS (Michigan Medicine Security) and supervisor
Maintain areas of the parking structure by assisting in cleaning, removal of trash, salting icy areas and snow removal
Report any elevator outages to supervisor
May work occasionally in a different classification depending on departmental staffing needs
Use university vehicle to drive to other locations to assist in parking operations
Assist parkers with use of parking equipment (may handle customer's credit card and/or cash) to assist them with the transaction
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Required Qualifications*
High School Diploma
At least one (1) year of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital setting
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to stay active/moving for most of the shift
Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
Ability to move/transport 30 pounds
Must have a valid drivers license
Work Schedule
Work shifts available: Monday-Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm and 2:00pm to 10:30pm
