THE POSITION The Information Systems Technician position fills a vital role as one of three IT members for the entire organization. This position will spend some time in the main office, but will also travel to program locations around San Diego County to help install and fix equipment and software issues. An example of tasks include: • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, hardware, and software and computer peripherals. • Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. • Installing new software and software upgrades through multifunction information technology systems; • Developing operation instructions and procedures for projects run on multifunction information technology systems; • Coordinating multiple on-line telecommunications systems and/or networks; • Developing and coordinating job stream tests for large/complex systems; • Maintaining operating records such as production and system performance reports; • Checking production frequently and modifying schedules to improve system performance; • Developing basic reports using fourth generation languages; • Acting as technical consultant and troubleshooter on multifunction information technology systems. • Serving as a contact point for system users; • Conducting training for users in automated office system uses; • Conducting classroom training in advanced application uses of the system; • Performing tasks in support of systems staff in system testing; • Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS • AA or vocational school training • Windows Desktop Operating Systems -- 3 years' experience • Microsoft Office -- 3 years' experience • Windows Server Operating Systems -- 1 year experience • Hardware repair -- 2 years' experience • Networking experience -- 3 years' experience • Experience with Dell branded equipment preferred • Experience in both remote and face to face customer service role • Current California driver's license & reliable transportation • Must pass pre-employment background check, TB test and drug screening requirements. HOURS Monday - Friday, day shift, 40 hours a week. Some occasional special projects may require alternate hours. PAY $23.50 per hour Starting rate and may be adjusted upwards based on experience. Current Vista Hill employees in this job title are paid $23 - $26 an hour. BENEFITS Employees working over 30 hours a week receive employer-paid benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off (vacation and sick leave), paid holidays, employer-paid retirement contribution and clinical supervision (if applicable). Some programs qualify for student loan forgiveness programs. Employees who work less than 30 hours a week do not qualify for healthcare benefits.
