Location: Modesto, CA Onsite Flexibility: Onsite (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) Contract Details: Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 4.5 months Start: 08/11/2025 End: 12/31/2025 Pay Rate: $20 - $24/hr Job Summary: The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR I) is the face of patient care and lab excellence. As a front-line healthcare professional, you will draw quality blood samples, process specimens for lab testing, and provide compassionate, accurate, and efficient service to every patient. You'll build trust with patients through professional communication and phlebotomy expertise, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional, safe clinical environment
  • Conduct both forensic and clinical blood draws with confidence, including pediatric and geriatric patients
  • Prepare specimens for transport and follow established lab protocols
  • Maintain detailed documentation and compliance records
  • Educate patients about procedures and promote confidence in the process
  • Demonstrate the Leadership Behaviors and uphold patient confidentiality at all times
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience
  • 2+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Experience in a clinical or laboratory environment
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Customer service background in retail or healthcare
  • Keyboard and data entry skills
Required Skills:
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) - Required for California
  • Pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy
  • Clinical specimen handling and processing
Preferred Skills:
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
  • Forensic specimen collection
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and lab procedures
Additional Skills:
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle lab equipment or specimens
  • Adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards
  • Willingness to work holidays, on-call, or overtime if needed
