- Responsible for providing wireless technology leadership for the development of wireless technologies including WiFi and mobile, engineering design, and deployment support.
- Requires hands-on experience with a broad range of wireless technologies including WiFi, 4G-LTE, and IoT as well as competency with key networking elements such as routing, switching, and security.
Responsibilities
- Provides technology leadership and leads the development of complex end-to-end technology solutions involving devices/CPEs, access, transport, core, and backend systems.
- Assesses new product requirements and develops technology solutions and architecture design to support them.
- Tests & certifies new Small Cells, Home/SMB Routers, Wireless Access Points, and Controllers products for deployment.
- Works with Operations to resolve WiFi and mobile access network issues impacting the business and customers.
- Provides guidelines and technical leadership for the development of tools and processes to support new products and technology solutions development, testing, and validation.
- Validates the capabilities of technologies through lab evaluation and field trials.
- Drives innovative technologies (802.11ad/ay, UWB, BNC, Mesh Network, etc.) to enhance performance, reliability, and QoE.
- Supports initiatives to improve network security, virtualization, and new applications/services.
- Develops tools and processes for engineering design, testing, and certification of new solutions.
- Reviews designs, code, and test plans.
- Participates in RFPs, evaluations, and vendor negotiations.
Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of wireless access technologies including WiFi, 4G-LTE, and familiarity with 5G.
- Experience managing wireless access engineering systems in a major media or telecom organization.
- Operational experience with WiFi and 4G-LTE.
- 12+ years in wireless technology development and management with top MSOs, Telcos, or wireless vendors.
- BSEE in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred.
