Click for a complete list of Employee Benefits.Position SummaryThe Software Development and Delivery (SDD) team in UIC Technology Services is looking for a skilled WordPress PHP Developer Graduate Assistant to work on UIC's RED Multisite WordPress platform. There is core development work involved in the backend using PHP and MySQL.Duties & Responsibilities
  • Bug fixes and enhancements for the custom plugins and theme used for Red websites.
  • Removing obsolete custom code from Red.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidate must be a full-time, UIC degree-seeking student in a graduate program with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
  • PHP and MySQL
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience using Git
  • Comfortable working in Linux environment
  • Understand the inner workings of WordPress and its APIs for efficient development and customization
  • Knowledge of how to create and modify WordPress themes and plugins
  • Should be able to collaborate and work independently
  • Good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Docker
  • Experience with templating frameworks like Timber
