Click for a complete list of Employee Benefits.Position SummaryThe Software Development and Delivery (SDD) team in UIC Technology Services is looking for a skilled WordPress PHP Developer Graduate Assistant to work on UIC's RED Multisite WordPress platform. There is core development work involved in the backend using PHP and MySQL.Duties & Responsibilities
- Bug fixes and enhancements for the custom plugins and theme used for Red websites.
- Removing obsolete custom code from Red.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidate must be a full-time, UIC degree-seeking student in a graduate program with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
- PHP and MySQL
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience using Git
- Comfortable working in Linux environment
- Understand the inner workings of WordPress and its APIs for efficient development and customization
- Knowledge of how to create and modify WordPress themes and plugins
- Should be able to collaborate and work independently
- Good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Docker
- Experience with templating frameworks like Timber
