Job Summary: This person is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of buildings at an Elementary school. Additionally, performs general maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and campus facilities.

Essential Functions: Including but not limited to:

  • Open campus and perform daily safety checks
  • Communicate with custodial staff regarding needs of staff and administration
  • Participate in setup and cleanup for breakfast and lunch
  • Inspect school buildings and grounds daily for repairs
  • Establish and prioritize maintenance repairs
  • Process work orders, maintain supplies, and recommend purchases
  • Promote safety, health, and comfort of students, staff, and teachers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus at least five years' custodial or maintenance experience, preferably supervisory or in a school setting, or equivalent experience/education.

Other Requirements:

  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push 120 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Knowledge of shut-off procedures for major mechanical systems
  • Availability for emergency calls
  • Ability to train staff on facility usage
  • Coordinate construction and renovation projects
  • Effective communication skills
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors and handle exposure to various environmental factors
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and the public
