Job Description:
- Experience:A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a nonprofit health care or social service organization, preferably focused on HIV/AIDS or related fields. Experience in managing a complex organization with multiple programs.
- Education:A bachelor's degree is required, and a master's degree in public health, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Leadership Skills:The CEO should be a visionary leader with a strong commitment to the mission, capable of inspiring and motivating staff, building consensus, and navigating complex challenges. The CEO must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be adept at managing conflict, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Financial Knowledge:Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, managing multi-million-dollar budgets, and ensuring financial stability and sustainability is essential.
- Fundraising Expertise:A proven track record of successful fundraising, including grant writing, securing grants from various sources (government, foundation, corporate), major gift solicitation, and cultivating donor relationships is vital.
- Communication Skills:Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and media relations, are necessary for effectively representing the organization and advocating for its mission.
- Understanding of HIV/AIDS Issues:In-depth knowledge of HIV/AIDS, including prevention, treatment, care, and related social issues, as well as an understanding of the communities and populations most affected by the widespread, is critical for this role.
- Policy and Advocacy:A broad understanding of social, economic, and political factors influencing health and well-being for people with HIV, and experience engaging with policymakers and advocating for relevant legislation, is essential.
