POSITION SUMMARY
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will oversee organizational compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position will ensure that all environmental policies and procedures manuals are available and updated at all times. The EHS Manager is responsible for all safety operations concerning fire, emergency, safety, and environmental programs. This individual will promote a culture of safety across the organization, especially with manufacturing and construction teams. Other responsibilities include assisting with the selection, use, storage, and waste stream of consumable products used in manufacturing and conducting safety and ergonomic assessments across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Conduct safety compliance and ergonomics audits.
- Implement policies to support employee health and safety.
- Follow regulatory reporting requirements.
- Monitor work processes to identify unsafe practices or safety breaches.
- Conduct equipment inspections with Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
- Organize safety training for staff.
- Develop and implement safety procedures and policies.
- Lead investigations of incidents and unsafe conditions.
- Conduct risk assessments for high-risk work areas.
- Oversee waste disposal methods to ensure compliance.
- Review operational processes for safety compliance.
- Manage employee safety discipline processes.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in occupational health and safety.
- Knowledge of industry regulations.
- Manufacturing experience in modular manufacturing is a plus.
- Construction safety experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented and able to perform under pressure.
- Mentorship and leadership skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Requirements
- This is an in-person role.
- Proficiency with computer skills and modern technology (Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365).
- Must sign a confidentiality agreement.
- May require reference checks.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, lift over 50 pounds, climb ladders, and crouch.
