Take advantage of our tuition assistance and scholarship programs to grow both personally and professionally.Security Police Position SummaryResponsible for carrying out the core value of safety at PRMC and PRHS by maintaining a safe, secure condition in and around the hospital buildings and grounds. This position is also responsible for the protection of patients, employees, visitors, and their property. The Special Police Officer is responsible for enforcing the laws of the State of Maryland in accordance with MD State General Statutes and COMAR regulations, including existing policies, procedures, regulations, and directives. This also includes regulations outlined by the Maryland State Police Licensing Division as it pertains to Special Police Commission.Security Police Position Requirements

• New Hires: Must complete 80 hours of training mandated by the Maryland State Police within one year of hire and be commissioned as a Special Police Officer in Maryland within one year of hire.
• Ongoing training: 12 hours of in-service mandated by Maryland State Police every 2 years before renewal of Maryland State Police.

Education

• High School Graduate or G.E.D.

Experience

• One-year prior experience in law enforcement, fire or security related job preferred.
• Must be able to successfully undergo a comprehensive background and character investigation.
• Valid driver's license and verification of insurability under Peninsula Regional Medical Center's automobile insurance plan.
• American Heart CPR certification.

Security Police Schedule

• May be assigned to permanent day, evening, or night shift.
• Usually scheduled off every third weekend.
• May be requested to work overtime on occasion.

Security Police Benefits

• At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
