Soliant Education is seeking dedicated and compassionateSpecial Education Teachersforonsite school-age classroomsfor the 20252026 school year. This is a contract position with competitive hourly compensation and full benefits.
Caseload Details:
School-aged students (ages 522)
Classrooms follow a 6:1:3.5 model (6 students, 1 teacher, 3.5 support staff)
All students have intellectual and developmental disabilities
Approximately 8085% of students are diagnosed with Autism
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
Provide academic instruction, behavioral support, and life skills development
Collaborate with classroom aides, therapists, related service providers, and families
Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress monitoring
Participate in IEP meetings and team planning sessions
Requirements:
Valid Special Education Certification in the state of New York
Experience with students with Autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs
Must pass a background check and any district-mandated onboarding procedures
