The clinical nutritionist will be responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy appropriate for age and disease of pediatric patients. Has a faculty appointment at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Responsible for initiating and writing orders within the defined scope of practice to implement appropriate nutrition care in a timely manner. Responsible for the case management of certain patient populations including, but not limited to, ketogenic diet therapy and home TPN. Establishes protocols for medical nutrition Therapy (MNT) for the organization. Initiates nutrition interventions as defined. Accepts telephone physician orders, within their scope of practice. Education Master s degree in food and nutrition from a program accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics with 12 months of clinical nutrition work experience required, pediatric experience preferred, and certification in area of specialization preferred; OR Bachelor...Registered, Dietitian, Nutritionist, Healthcare, Pediatric
