Job Summary

The Credentialing Operations Specialist plays a vital role in overseeing the credentialing processes for both initial and reappointment applications for medical and allied health staff. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing timelines and workflow for reappointment cycles
  • Ensuring timely completion of applications while identifying any issues requiring further information
  • Overseeing data entry accuracy and verification requests
  • Conducting final reviews of processed verifications for quality assurance
  • Drafting correspondence for additional information requests
  • Facilitating committee preparations and follow-ups on credentialing recommendations
  • Coordinating communication of final credentialing decisions to all involved parties
  • Generating audits and reports to support the credentialing process
  • Initiating a smooth provider application process

This role demands exceptional customer service skills and proactive communication with providers. The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring high-quality accuracy is essential. You'll also be responsible for planning your workflow to meet regulatory and customer-defined deadlines, all while minimizing redundancy among different organizations with shared providers.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required. Alternatively, an Associate's degree with three years of relevant experience may be considered. A minimum of two years of experience in credentialing, provider services, administrative support, business, or healthcare is preferred.
