Under supervision, the Research Associate 3 (RA 3) position will assist with managing the Biospecimen Core laboratory used by multiple investigators at LSUHSC, partner institutions, and other universities and outside vendors. The incumbent is responsible for all database, equipment, and technological procurement suggestions and upgrades. The RA 3 duties include, but are not limited to, providing various services, including patient identification, obtaining informed consent, specimen collection, tissue processing, specimen storage and maintenance, database creation, upgrades, and maintenance, and management of the bio-bank data. The incumbent will also train and supervise junior level staff members, visiting Fellows, and students when applicable on proper equipment handling, technique, and lab safety. Travel to and from various local clinics is required.
