Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $21.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in a Human Resources or administrative support role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable facilitating orientation sessions and delivering training related to HR policies and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Familiarity with employment laws.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague.
Responsibilities:
The HR Associate is responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
Serves as the first point of contact for incoming departmental calls, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate HR staff member.Conducts benefit overviews with job candidates.Assists with coordinating and participating in the delivery of human resource training, including new employee orientation, recruitment, policies and procedures, etc.Coordinates the Professional Development Training and Warrior Wellness programs. Sets up weekly professional development and wellness classes for faculty and staff.Coordinates the annual employee benefits and resource fair.Maintains and updates the HRS and Professional Development / Warrior Wellness websites.Processes I-9's and new hire paperwork for new employees and verifies employment eligibility through E-Verify.Places advertisements for vacant positions and supports recruitment functions such as composing announcements, assisting with recruitment plans, and explaining application and hiring processes.Enters new employees and employment updates into the Luma HR system (GHR), and understand the payroll function in Luma Payroll (WFM).Recommends feedback and changes to human resource policies.Coordinates, processes, and tracks Family Medical Leave forms (FMLA) for employees.Coordinates and manages workers compensation program. Responsible for tracking workers compensation forms and working with State Insurance Fund personnel.Conducts thorough search committee training for all searches.
