Responsibilities for a Payroll Specialist include but are not limited to:?

  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors or subcontractors on IRA-funded projects receive wages that meet or exceed the prevailing rates determined by the Department of Labor, in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit certified payroll reports to relevant government agencies, calculate payments and ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain comprehensive records of payroll data, including employee information, wage rates, and job classifications.

  • Audit Support: Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and maintaining organized payroll records.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure understanding and adherence to prevailing wage requirements.

  • Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about changes in prevailing wage laws and regulations, including those specific to IRA projects, and implement necessary updates to compliance processes.

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

Candidates for Payroll Specialist must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • 2+ years of experience in prevailing wage payroll processing and certified payroll reporting.

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, business administration, or a payroll related field.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and certified payroll systems; strong attention to detail; effective communication skills. Must be proficient in Excel.

  • Comprehensive understanding of prevailing wage laws, including the Davis-Bacon Act and IRA-specific regulations (required).

Pay Details: $43.45 per hour
