Join Our Team as an Area Pricing Analyst!

We are looking for a dedicated Area Pricing Analyst to enhance our pricing strategies and drive profitability for our designated distribution center (DC). This role is pivotal in ensuring that our pricing mechanisms are effective and aligned with sales objectives. Here's what you will be responsible for:

  • Price Management: Review and manage price deviations and exceptions for Territory Managers (TMs) associated with the designated DC, including commission-based adjustments, self-funded deviations, and price approvals.
  • Support Sales: Provide answers to pricing queries escalated from Sales and other employees related to the designated DC.
  • Pricing Analysis: Analyze and develop pricing recommendations for bids from local customers (excluding schools) and conduct special pricing reviews for new customer acquisition, working closely with the Strategic Pricing Manager.
  • Margin Improvement: Manage the area DSBC reporting process to enhance area margins. Identify costing errors and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Promotional Pricing: Execute weekly promotional pricing strategies within the designated DC.
  • Opportunity Identification: Monitor and identify pricing opportunities by analyzing market trends and margins, teaming up with District Sales Managers (DSMs) to audit ongoing local self-funded deviations.
  • Data Utilization: Utilize Merlin to discover product and category opportunities for pricing strategies. Conduct ad-hoc pricing analysis as needed by the Strategic Pricing Manager or Area President.
  • Vendor Management: Manage and upload exceptions for vendor price lists from local and regional suppliers.
  • Documentation: Maintain customer pricing rationale (CPR) backups for the area.

Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Relationships:

  • Internal: Collaborate closely with the Pricing Manager, Region Pricing Manager, Area President, AVP of Merchandising and Marketing, and the area sales team (including VP Sales, Sales Manager, DSMs, CSC, and TMs).
  • External: Engage with customers and vendors to strengthen relationships and support pricing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Training: Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 3 years of pricing experience is required.
  • Experience: Previous pricing experience in the foodservice or food manufacturing industry is highly desired. Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential.
  • Skills: Proven experience supporting sales teams, along with strong business acumen and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
  • Data Access: Ability to access established pricing databases and analyze data provided by analysts. Familiarity with the PRIME pricing system is a plus.
