The Product Information Specialist role at Thermo Fisher Scientific is an important part of the company's total value proposition. This position is located at our Grand Island NY facility.

How Will You Make An Impact?

The Product Information Specialist is responsible for providing pre-and post-sales product information and documentation support of Thermo Fisher Scientific products to customers and field personnel, as well as relaying customer feedback to the organization.

What Will You Do?
  • Provide Tier 1 support across all Technical Support areas
  • Provide product information by answering customer inquiries. Inquires may be received via phone, email or web.
  • Accurately record pertinent information from the customer contacts in our Customer Management system.
  • Fulfill customer document requests via phone and email for protocols, MSDS, Certificate of Analysis, etc.
  • Helping customers with navigating the web and store sites.
  • Provide basic product data to assist customers in product selection.
  • Product comparison/specification information.
  • Direct customers to appropriate department based on their specific requirements.
  • Collect sales leads on incoming calls and emails.
  • Recommend complimentary products 'workflows' to customers.
  • Connect customers to the local sales representative.
  • Assist Customer Care with incomplete or incorrect product information.
  • Serve as product and interpersonal resource
  • Participate in training on products and applications to remain knowledgeable of new products.
How Will You Get Here?
  • Bachelor Degree in life sciences such as Biology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology or a similar field is required.
  • Laboratory experience is desired
  • Prior experience in customer service or a customer-facing role is a plus.
  • Preferred Language: English
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proven communication capabilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record to quickly learn general product information for Thermo Fisher products.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple inquiries and problem solve.
  • Digital literacy, including spreadsheet, database, Internet and Microsoft applications.
