Position Title: Senior Nurse Practitioner – Family PracticeLocation: Correctional Center, Waverly, VAPosition Type: Locum TenensStart Date: ASAPDuration: 13 weeks with option to extendSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (40 hours/week)Pay Range: $2,800–$3,132/week (based on experience) +Health Benes+ Travel if applicable

Position Description:The Nurse Practitioner in the correctional setting provides healthcare services to incarcerated individuals within the scope of their license. Responsibilities include physical examinations, diagnostic testing, assessments, prescribing medications, and educating patients on health promotion and treatment plans.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Nurse Practitioner certification and VA license
• Certification by a nationally accredited organization (AANP, ANCC preferred)
• DEA and BLS required
• Ability to prescribe autonomously (no collaborative agreement needed)
• Minimum 3 years of NP experience required for autonomous prescriptive authority
• Correctional experience preferred
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
