Shift Details:Schedule: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (with potential extension based on performance and need)Highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room RN to join the dedicated team at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital. The nurse will provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department of a 10-bed rural facility. This role demands quick critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage high-stress situations with professionalism.
Responsibilities Include:Triage, assess, and treat patients presenting to the ED for emergency careCollaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality careAdminister medications, monitor vital signs, and respond to life-threatening emergenciesDocument patient care accurately in the EMREducate patients and families on conditions, medications, and follow-up careEnsure all procedures are performed in compliance with hospital policies and protocols
Required Qualifications:Active RN License – New York (or compact eligible)Minimum of 2-3 years of recent Emergency Room experience preferredStrong clinical skills in acute and emergent care settingsFamiliarity with rural hospital emergency protocols is a plus
Required Certifications:BLS – Basic Life Support (AHA)ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life SupportPALS – Pediatric Advanced Life SupportNIHSS – National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certification#Order ARN-16929
Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital is a small, rural emergency facility. Candidates should be comfortable working in a low-volume but high-acuity setting with limited immediate backup resources. Adaptability and autonomy are key.10-bed Emergency Department handling a variety of cases including trauma, cardiac, pediatric, and medical emergencies. The facility may also receive walk-ins, EMS transports, and transfers.
