Receptionist, Inpatient Unit - Nashville Location: Nashville Inpatient Residence Status: Part Time Schedule: Saturday 12pm-4pm, and Sunday 2pm-8pm Alive provides its team members the ability to combine passion for healthcare and love of community in ways that impacts us all. Come serve with us!SUMMARY Receives callers/visitors, determines nature of business, and directs caller/visitors/patients to destination in a courteous and calm manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reports to assigned location on time and prepared to begin work
  • Answer calls in a timely manner, within three rings, and using standard greeting with 'Alive Hospice' this is (name), how may I help you.
  • Obtains necessary information in order to direct calls/visitors/patients correctly to the proper person or place
  • Takes accurate and complete messages from callers who do not wish to use voice mail; forwards all messages to appropriate staff accurately and promptly. Intake calls are never directed to voicemail, but are transferred to a person.
  • Pages staff only as needed.
  • Greets Residence visitors politely and directs them to sign the visitor guest log before proceeding; directs visitors asking for professional staff to be seated in reception area; notifies appropriate staff member of guest's arrival. Directs visitors/families/patients to the appropriate area after having them sign in per procedure.
  • Directs new admissions to assigned rooms as directed by charge nurse, clinical director or administrator; promptly notifies nurse of patient's arrival at the Residence.
  • Notifies administrator, clinical director or charge nurse immediately of any concerns related to PR, safety, etc.
  • Maintains reception area in a clean and professional manner.
  • Maintains professional appearance and shall wear name tag at all times.
  • Treats volunteers in a courteous and welcoming manner assisting as necessary to maintain a calm and courteous environment.
  • Maintains patient, family and staff confidentiality.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.
  • Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school graduate or equivalent from accredited school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS If required to drive to carry out the duties of this position: current driver's license and automobile insurance as required by Tennessee State Law.
