The Steam Plant Operator will work under the direction of the Chief Engineer and operate high pressure boilers, boiler feedwater, and steam distribution systems. In this role, you will work with water softeners, de-alkalizers, and related boiler room equipment. STATUS: Full Time. SHIFT: Rotating 12-hour shifts; Weekends, holidays and OT as required. LOCATION: Rochester, NYDEPARTMENT: Utilities JOB TYPE: Union. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform water treatment testing and analysis on the boilers and related equipment. Execute all operation and maintenance functions to ensure the plant runs safely and efficiently. Conduct hourly rounds and maintain daily maintenance logs. Continue to train and learn on both a self-directed and class-oriented training program. Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
