Job Description :

The Production Manager provides leadership and oversight across all aspects of production operations at the facility, including safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and material resource planning. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role manages day-to-day operations and supports strategic decision-making. The Production Manager leads a team of supervisors, engineers, clerks, and hourly personnel, and plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee safe and efficient operation of all production units, including Acrylic and Phenolic Reactors, Packaging Operations, and common plant areas.
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, training, and performance management, ensuring consistency across shifts and alignment with plant goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operations, training, and material resource planning (MRP) processes.
  • Manage production budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives related to raw materials, waste, and utilities.
  • Collaborate across departments including maintenance, engineering, HR, and supply chain to support plant-wide initiatives.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve safety and reliability.
  • Maintain up-to-date operating procedures and oversee training programs to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
  • Represent the production department in strategic initiatives including S&OP and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in industrial or chemical manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership experience in a unionized environment with strong knowledge of PSM, ISO, QS, and MI procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to SAP and S&OP processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
