We are currently hiring for the position of Load Planner. This role is essential to the daily operations of our terminal and is responsible for coordinating the movement of containers and trailers within the yard. The Load Planner ensures freight is planned, sequenced, and executed efficiently to maximize productivity and meet customer timelines.

Shifts Available:

6:00pm to 6:00am - 3 days on 3 days off

(Including weekends and holidays)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage daily load plans for inbound and outbound rail and truck traffic.
  • Coordinate with crane operators, hostlers, and clerks to ensure accurate container placement.
  • Monitor real-time yard activity to adjust plans and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Prioritize high-importance freight, damaged equipment, and time-sensitive shipments.
  • Communicate with rail partners, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely updates and resolution of issues.
  • Utilize terminal operating systems (TOS) and software tools to track inventory and equipment movements.
  • Identify and escalate issues that could cause delays or operational inefficiencies.
  • Analyze trends and provide feedback to improve loading/unloading processes.
  • Ensure all activities comply with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Associate's & Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1+ year experience in load planning, dispatching, or logistics preferred.
  • Familiarity with intermodal operations and terminal processes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and planning software systems.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
